The talk will focus on how globalization affects the development and formation of the newest Chinese comunity in Silicon Valley.
Glocalization brings the various Chinese from many different regions and cultures of the world, impacting not just their work environments but also their personal, family and social life. The community created differs significantly from all traditional Chinatowns in America. The new global economies, technology, Chinese and American cultures, as will be demonstrated, have shaped these high-tech professionals, their ethnic identity and their adaptive strategies.
